1. CONCEPTS OF PHYSICS VOL 1 AND 2 BY HC VERMA
USP: Recommended for both JEE Mains and Advanced, Fundamentals through Topic based numericals
- Very detailed general Physics textbook which is holy grail for all JEE aspirants
- Students should solve questions at the end of each chapter, starting from easy to advanced
- Numericals are designed to aid concept building
Suggested topics: Mechanics, Thermodynamics, Electrostatics, Optics, Modern Physics
Limitation: Theory not well-explained, Questions/problems oriented book
2. FUNDAMENTALS OF PHYSICS, BY RESNICK, HALLIDAY AND WALKER
USP: Recommended for concept-clearing, especially tough topics like rotational motion
- One of the best books to strengthen theory and concepts
- Each concept is explained using descriptions, lab experiments, derivations with lots of application-based examples
Suggested topics: Rotational motion, Wave Optics, Electromagnetism
Limitation: Theory part of Wave Motion on a string, Sound Waves and Circular Motion are not covered well
3. PROBLEMS IN GENERAL PHYSICS BY IE IRODOV
USP: Recommended for JEE Advanced, Advanced-level questions and numericals
- This book contains 300 advanced-level questions on general physics
- A very strong foundation in General physics is necessary to attempt Irodov.
- Soft copy is available on the internet.
Suggested topics: Mechanics and Electrodynamics using the principles of Vector, Trigonometry and Calculus
Limitation: The book does not contain detailed solutions to problems, which might be frustrating for students
